SPEC/GWPG reduces cost of publishing performance results

MANASSAS, Va., January 27, 2011 – SPEC’s Graphics and Workstation Performance Group (SPEC/GWPG) has reduced the cost of submitting results for publication on its website to $250.

“The new pricing makes SPEC-reviewed performance results accessible to organizations that might not be able to afford a SPEC/GWPG membership,” says George Chaltas, SPEC/GWPG chair. “It doesn’t replace membership in SPECapc or SPECgpc project groups – which gives companies a full slate of benefits, including a strong voice in establishing international performance benchmarks and unlimited SPEC submissions – but it does deliver great value from both technical and marketing standpoints.”

Benefits of SPEC-reviewed and -published performance results include:

  • High visibility on the SPEC web site, visited by millions annually.
  • Results accepted for publication by SPEC/GWPG have the increased integrity that comes from meeting SPEC's widely respected and rigorous standards .
  • Published results on SPEC’s web site cost less, last longer and have more credibility than many other forms of marketing.
  • SPEC results are valued by corporate and government CTOs and IT managers who rely on them as a key component in their decision-making processes for purchasing and configuring computer systems.

Submissions from those who are not members will stay posted on the SPEC/GWPG web site for three months and can be renewed for an additional $250; non-members are limited to eight (8) submissions per year. Companies joining SPEC/GWPG will receive a credit for all submissions within the 12-month period before becoming a member.
