Of the 240 drives, 224 were used for the file system and 4 were used for Fujitsu code and logging. In addition, Cougar maintenance and core dump files resided on the 2 of the 4 disks. Each of the 32 file systems was striped over its own set of 7 disk drives. Sixteen file systems were assigned to Controller Module 0 and the other 16 to Controller Module 1. While both Cougar blades could access both Controller Modules for failover purposes, each blade was assigned to its own Controller Module during the SPEC test. The Cougar Gateway utilized the Fujitsu storage default settings including Read Cache, Write Cache, Write Cache Mirroring, and 64 KB stripe size.
